Our History: Since 1889
A small scrap metal and mill supply store, Schweitzer Company, was established by Charles Schweitzer in 1889. Around 1900, Charles was joined by his brother George, and the company name was changed to Schweitzer Brothers Company.

In 1912, Fred Schweitzer, a younger brother of Charles and George, purchased the assets of the company and moved the business to 421 S. Campbell, near the public square.

In 1938, Fred was joined by his son, Lee, and the business was incorporated in 1957. Lee was joined by his son Steve in 1966. And in 1970, the business moved to 1700 E. Trafficway, its present location.

Throughout the years, from 1889 to present, Schweitzer Bros. Inc. has believed in providing dependable service and quality products for manufacturing and industry in the southwest Missouri area and beyond. We always welcome your comments on how we may serve you better!
